The SPAw at Town & Country
Professional Grooming Services
Grooming isn't just for "prissy pups!" It also aids your pet in good hygiene, encourages pets to be more comfortable when handled,
and often boosts the pet's self-esteem. At Town & Country, we strive to support Good Health in your pet, inside & out! And our Grooming
Services help to round out those efforts. The hands-on nature of grooming allows the groomer to be another set of eyes and ears,
observing the condition of your pet.
Call us now, to schedule an appointment at our SPAw!

SCHEDULING
Although we tend to think of grooming our pets, as them just coming in for a "haircut," we know there's much more to it than that!
Therefore, we schedule a Consultation Appointment with pet owners. During this brief consultation
appointment, the groomer will be able to assess each client's specific needs and situation. This allows for clearer
understanding of your expectations and open discussion of your options. After which, the pet will be left for the "session."

MEET OUR GROOMER
Dru Marquis has spent most of her life working with animals, large and small. She began her professional career as a horse
trainer and riding instructor, having graduated college with a degree in Equine Science. After many successful years in that
field, she took the patience, knowledge and experience learned working with horses into the world of Pet Grooming. She
apprenticed under Faye Toll, a master groomer of over 20 years, gaining the skills necessary to groom a wide variety of dog
breeds in traditional styles and companion animal haircuts.
Dru has been grooming companion animals in a professional setting for over a decade. Her ability to read a pet's body language
and emotional state of being, along with her working knowledge and understanding of animal behavior and psychology, contribute
to her success in handling pets in a calm and confident manner. She always takes into account the individual needs of each pet,
while striving to accomplish a client's requests in a safe and humane way.
Dru looks forward to meeting you and your special friend for a "day at the spa"!

We request vaccination information no later than
2 days prior to your pet's appointment, so that we may have an oppportunity to review and discuss any complications we may observe.

records, please call our Service Coordinators, and they can help to answer any questions you may have.

FELINE GROOMING
Due to the delicate nature of the feline psyche and their fragile skin structure, we perform feline grooming by sedation.
Because of the medication involved in sedation, we "hospitalize" our feline grooming clients, and these
Grooming Services will be performed in tandem with the Hospital, to ensure your pet's safety. In the hopspital, the doctors and
technicians will perform pre-anesthetic testing, administer medications, and monitor your pet. Working with them, the groomer will
perform the requested services on your feline. Because of the necessary procedures involved, cats to be groomed by sedation should be
left for the entirety of the day (dropped-off in the morning and picked up in the evening).
For the very small percentage of cats with very calm and tolerant nature, exceptions to sedation will be determined upon a
case-by-case basis.

FORMS
If you are a first-time client, please download the following forms and fill them out, prior to your pet's grooming
appointment. You can either fax them to us at (210) 684-6827 or bring them with you, the day of. Doing this will save you time and help your
pet's drop-off go more smoothly.
|
If you are coming to Town & Country for the first time, these are all of the forms we request you fill
out for Standard Grooming Services (non-sedation). Because your pet will be left with us, we do request
some medical information about them, should they need any medical attention while in our custody.
|
For those of our current patients who would like to take advantage of our Grooming Services,
these are the forms we request you to complete for your first appointment.
|
If your pet has never been groomed before or if you have any questions or concerns about the process, please read
through this sheet of helpful info.
|
Because Sedation Grooming is more medically involved than our Standard Grooming Services, you will complete
most of the paperwork at our facility, with our assistance. But, you can go ahead and fill-out our
New Client Registration Form ahead of time, to expedite your initial appointment.
