Many veterinarians across the country promote February as “National Dental Health Month” for your pets. Although we value this focus every year, at Town & Country
we advocate for your pet’s dental health all year round. That is why we have expanded the traditional “Dental Month Special” to include 60 days after a pet’s annual wellness exam
and vaccines. We offer special dental cleaning rates not just for a month, but for 2 months. Please talk to our wonderful service coordinators about scheduling your pet’s dental prophy!
In addition to regular dental cleanings, maintaining good dental health requires at home care. Brushing your pet’s teeth is always best, but other dental care options are available. These include
dental rinses to help reduce bacteria in the mouth, and dental chews to reduce bacteria but also to help reduce plaque by the chewing action.
Of particular note is the relatively recent Porphyromonas vaccine for
our canine patients. This vaccine helps fight the bacteria linked to periodontal disease. We recommend this vaccine annually to help stave off periodontitis.
